Training

21 Plus provide local, accessible training for parents, carers and professionals.

We are passionate about ensuring that our training is accessible to as many people within the local Down syndrome community as possible. We heavily subsidise the cost of places on these courses to ensure they are accessible to everyone.

We deliver training on a wide range of topics for both parents and carers, and professionals. Training is currently running online through a series of workshops. These include the learning profile of children and young people with Down syndrome, promoting positive behaviour in children with Down syndrome, reading, developing numeracy skills and fine motor skills in children and young people with Down syndrome, as well as SRE.

Workshops are aimed at all staff involved in teaching and supporting pupils with Down syndrome in both mainstream and special educational settings at primary and secondary stages. They are also relevant to educational psychologists and other professionals involved in planning and managing input to schools, as well as to parents and carers of children with Down syndrome.

Please see our list of training workshops below which is updated regularly.
